The main tourist attraction is St. Sophia Cathedral (Selimiye Mosque):This is the earliest and perhaps the finest of the Lusignan churches, built by French architects and Queen Alix of Champagne (Hugh I's wife) in the same style as Chartres and Rouen Cathedrals in France. Following the Ottoman conquest in the 16th century, it was transformed into a mosque with the addition of two minarets.

Well Lefkhosha is like a place where one can stay a little incognito ,the sheer brilliance of the Selimiye mosque takes ones breath away literally, it has to be seen to be really know what is like at night!


it is recomended to visit it while going to nicosia with some good guides as the history is very interesting.
buyuk Han would be a nearby place to have food!
